Life's Labyrinth: Poems for the Broken Road

Over the years I've read hundreds of poems for which the world had "words of praise" but seldom have I seen poems with words of prose. I've scratched my head over Shelly and paced the floor contemplating Poe. Perhaps it's because of this that I don't want people to read my poetry, turn to their friends and say "I wonder what he meant by that."

With few exceptions my poems are about real people and real events. I've been fortunate enough to know great people who did great things -- these are their "been there, done that" poems. So as you enjoy the slices of life that follow please remember these are poems about real people in real life. These poems were written in fire trucks, on battlefields, and beside quiet mountain lakes. The only mystery they portray is the mystery of the human spirit.
